Code of Conduct

Welcome to Mendocino Cannabis Alliance (“MCA”, “we”, “our”). We appreciate your willingness to contribute your time and effort in pursuit of achieving our Mission.

MISSION

The Mendocino Cannabis Alliance serves and promotes Mendocino County’s world-renowned cannabis cultivators and businesses through sustainable economic development, education and public policy initiatives.

Together we share a vision that through the process of legalization, regulation, and ultimately the normalization of cannabis, we will be able to participate as equal partners in the building of our collective future here in Mendocino County.

MCA is a trade association of members from all sectors of the Mendocino County cannabis industry businesses who – in that same pioneer spirit defines our local heritage – have decided to come out of the shadows and embrace the possibilities of a new paradigm for our regional community.

We want to protect our unique natural resources and participate in civic duties as we drive economic development and create job opportunities, and not be stigmatized by our choice to participate in the culture or business of cannabis. MCA stands united in our effort to change the narrative and move the conversation beyond the status quo.

We realize that MCA is, ultimately, a reflection of our members.  Thus, in pursuit of our Mission, we believe our membership must be exemplary of the type of cannabis industry we wish to build and maintain in Mendocino County.  Accordingly, each MCA member shall be held accountable to the following Code of Conduct, which has been approved by our Board of Directors (and may be amended from time-to-time). We take our Code of Conduct seriously, as should you if you desire to maintain your membership in our fine organization.

MCA CODE OF CONDUCT

MCA members shall:

    • Practice honesty, fairness and treat other members of MCA and community equally;
    • Practice good faith and due diligence in all MCA affairs;
    • Adhere to all laws and regulations to the fullest extent possible;
    • Be respectful to and courteous of, and not slander, other MCA members as well as the community members.
    • Unless explicitly authorized by the Board to do so, refrain from representing any position on behalf of MCA to the public; and
    • Respect any personal or business information of other members gleaned from participation in our organization or shared directly by another member.

Our Code of Conduct is intended to ensure members exhibit integrity, honesty, and other good professional practices when interacting with each other and the community.  Any alleged violation of MCA’s Code of Conduct is subject to review by the Board of Directors or its designated committee.  If the Board of Directors determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, that a member has violated the Code of Conduct, the member shall be subject to disciplinary action, which may include, without limitation, termination of the member’s membership in MCA.  No member is entitled to membership in MCA, rather membership is a privilege that may be revoked at any time in the Board of Directors.  We expect all members will conduct themselves accordingly.

By joining MCA you are agreeing to the Code of Conduct set forth above, a copy of which will also be included in your Membership Packet, which you are asked to sign and return to us in order to fully execute the start of your membership in MCA.

Thank you for considering becoming a member of our organization.
